Webhook Connection Issues
Chatofy relies on Meta Webhooks to receive incoming messages and status updates in real-time. If the webhook connection is broken, you won't see new messages or delivery updates in the inbox.
Signs of Webhook Issues
- New messages not appearing in the Shared Inbox
- Delivery status not updating (messages stuck on "Sent")
- Meta Diagnostics showing webhook as disconnected
- Errors in the Meta API logs
Common Causes & Fixes
Webhook Verify Token Mismatch
Chatofy uses a META_WEBHOOK_VERIFY_TOKEN environment variable to verify webhooks. If this token was changed in Meta Business Manager without updating Chatofy, the webhook will fail verification.
System User Token Expired
The Meta System User token used for API calls may expire. If expired, Chatofy cannot register or maintain webhook subscriptions. This is typically handled automatically but may require manual refresh in some cases.
Network/Firewall Issues
Chatofy's webhook endpoint must be publicly accessible from Meta's servers. Ensure no firewall or proxy is blocking incoming HTTPS requests to /api/meta/webhook.
Partner App Uninstalled / Account Disconnected
If the Chatofy Tech Provider App is uninstalled or removed from your WhatsApp Business Account in Meta Business Manager, Meta emits a PARTNER_APP_UNINSTALLED webhook and revokes permissions. Chatofy marks the connection as Disconnected so you can cleanly reconnect via Embedded Signup in Settings → WhatsApp.
WhatsApp Business App Coexistence Verification
When using Coexistence mode (running on your physical mobile phone alongside Chatofy), Meta requires the number to be fully verified. If code_verification_status is NOT_VERIFIED, Meta delivers messages only to the physical handset and suppresses Cloud API webhooks. Complete OTP / 2-step verification or companion device linking in WhatsApp Settings → Linked Devices to activate Cloud API webhook delivery.
How to Reconnect
- Go to Admin → Meta Diagnostics
- Check the webhook connection status
- If disconnected, click "Test Connection"
- If test fails, verify the environment variables are correct
- Contact Chatofy support if the issue persists
