Understanding WhatsApp Conversation Pricing

WhatsApp charges businesses based on conversation pricing. Each conversation between your business and a customer falls into a category, and you are charged per conversation per 24-hour period.

Conversation Categories

  • Marketing — Promotional messages, offers, and announcements
  • Utility — Order confirmations, shipping updates, and account notifications
  • Service — Customer-initiated conversations for support
  • Authentication — One-time passwords and verification codes

How Charges Are Calculated

Each conversation opens when a business sends a message to a customer (for marketing and utility) or when a customer messages the business (for service). The conversation remains open for 24 hours, and all messages within that window are part of the same conversation charge.

Viewing Your Usage

You can track your conversation usage in the Chatofy dashboard under Billing → Usage. The dashboard shows a breakdown by category along with estimated charges based on Meta's current rates.

Note

WhatsApp rates vary by region. Chatofy passes through Meta's conversation charges at cost with no markup. Your Chatofy subscription covers the platform features and infrastructure.
