Two-Factor Authentication Issues

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Chatofy account. If you're having trouble with 2FA, this guide will help you resolve common issues.

Lost Access to Authenticator App

If you've lost access to your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.):

  1. Click "Try another way to sign in" on the 2FA prompt
  2. Select "Use recovery code"
  3. Enter one of your recovery codes to complete login
  4. Go to Settings → Security to reconfigure 2FA

Recovery Codes Not Working

Recovery codes are one-time use only. If none of your codes work, contact Chatofy support to verify your identity and disable 2FA on your account.

Setup Issues

  • Ensure your device's clock is synchronized (incorrect time causes code mismatches)
  • Try scanning the QR code with a different authenticator app
  • Manually enter the setup key if QR scanning fails
