Media Upload & Download Issues

If you're having trouble uploading or downloading media files, this guide covers common causes and solutions.

File Size Exceeds Limits

WhatsApp enforces file size limits per media type:

  • Images — Up to 5MB
  • Audio — Up to 16MB
  • Video — Up to 16MB
  • Documents — Up to 100MB

If your file exceeds these limits, compress or resize the file before uploading.

Unsupported File Format

WhatsApp supports specific formats: JPEG, PNG for images; PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX for documents; MP4, AAC for audio/video. Check that your file uses a supported format.

Storage Quota Exceeded

Your Chatofy plan includes storage for media files. If you've exceeded your storage quota, upgrade your plan or delete old media to free up space.

Download Failures

  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify the media URL hasn't expired (media URLs are time-limited)
  • Ensure your browser allows downloads from the Chatofy domain
