Meta Embedded Signup Setup Guide
Meta Embedded Signup is the recommended way to connect your WhatsApp Business Account to Chatofy. It handles account creation, phone number registration, and permission management in a single flow.
What is Embedded Signup?
Embedded Signup is Meta's OAuth 2.0 authorization flow that allows third-party providers like Chatofy to request access to your WhatsApp Business Account. It replaces the manual setup process with a guided, secure experience.
What Happens During Setup
- Meta Business Account — If you don't have one, Meta guides you through creating a new Business Account.
- WABA Creation — A WhatsApp Business Account is created automatically under your business.
- Phone Number Registration — You register a phone number with OTP verification.
- Permission Granting — Chatofy receives the minimum required permissions to operate your WABA.
Post-Setup Verification
After completing Embedded Signup, navigate to Settings → WhatsApp to verify:
- Your WABA appears with its ID and status
- Your phone number is listed with "Connected" status
- The system user token was generated automatically
Important Notes
- You can connect multiple WABAs per organization
- Each WABA can have multiple phone numbers
- Phone numbers cannot be transferred between WABAs once registered
- When onboarding an account with multiple Meta Business Portfolios, Chatofy accurately preserves and links the specific portfolio selected in the Meta popup
- Your existing WhatsApp Business App will continue working alongside Chatofy in coexistence mode
